You may be leaving your Swedish home before the next one is ready, or taking only part of your furniture overseas. Rent&Move starts with the whole handover: what travels, what needs storage and how the property will be left. Submit the details for review before the international transport and any additional services are agreed.
Give every box a destination
Create separate inventories for the overseas address, storage and items staying in Sweden. Number boxes and mark the destination and room outside. Match those numbers to your inventory so you can locate a particular group without unpacking the whole shipment.
Keep travel essentials out of the collection. If you might need seasonal clothes or work equipment while other belongings are stored, mention that before packing. Access requirements can affect how the stored items should be arranged.
Plan for the gap between homes
Write down the date your current property must be empty and the earliest day you can receive furniture overseas. Distinguish confirmed dates from estimates. If the two do not meet, ask for temporary storage to be assessed as part of the request.
Check storage conditions, access, insurance, notice periods and how to book retrieval. Collection into storage and later delivery are separate tasks. Ask which handling and journeys are included so you can assess the full arrangement.
Agree packing responsibilities before collection
The packing plan should suit the goods and the proposed transport. Ask about protective materials, disassembly and any transfer between vehicles. Record the condition of delicate items and provide relevant measurements where an object may be difficult to carry.
If you pack yourself, check labelling, sealing and the terms for owner-packed goods. Discuss liquids, batteries and items that might need special handling before putting them into boxes. Do not assume everything can travel under the same conditions.
Keep the property handover separate from delivery
Schedule removal, any move-out cleaning and key return as distinct appointments. Explain whether furniture will remain and who can provide access if you have already travelled. Cleaning needs an agreed scope and suitable access to the property.
Ask for packing, collection, international transport, storage, return delivery and cleaning to be identifiable in the quote where relevant. If the overseas handover changes, you can then see which parts of the plan need to be revised.

- Can I send some belongings abroad and store the rest?
- Include both inventories and your preferred dates in the request. The arrangement, capacity and price need to be assessed and confirmed.
- Are packing materials and cleaning included?
- Only when they appear in the agreed quote. Request the services you need and check the quantity, scope and responsibilities before accepting.
- Can someone else provide access after I leave?
- Explain who can attend and which tasks they can oversee. Key handling and responsibilities need to be agreed with the provider.
